On January 15, 2020, more than ten employees of the New Era Headquarters participated in the Chinese New Year Gala hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Namibia and wished the people of the motherland New Year. The hall of the party was full of lights and colorful, crowded and lively. More than 550 overseas Chinese from all over Namibia dressed in festive costumes and gathered together to welcome the New Year.

At 6 pm, the party started amidst the warm and cheerful music of the Spring Festival. Zhang Yiming, the ambassador to Namibia, gave a speech first, extending New Year’s blessings and holiday greetings to everyone. Ambassador Zhang said that in the past 70 years, the Chinese people have overcome obstacles, comprehensive national strength has risen to a higher level, and the demeanor of a great power has shined in the world. In the past year, China-Africa relations have progressed steadily, and news of China-Namibia relations have been spread frequently. Thanks to the joint efforts of people from all walks of life in China and Namibia, it is especially important for Chinese institutions and overseas Chinese in Namibia to promote the deep friendship between China and Namibia. Appreciate China's contribution to its positive image, praise the moving deeds that emerged in the overseas Chinese community in 2019, and encourage all overseas Chinese in Namibia to unite and love each other, seize the day and live up to their youth, and work together to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation! Add luster to a better tomorrow of China-Namibia relations!

At the party, the China Opera and Dance Theater brought a special performance of "Happy Chinese New Year", and its superb artistic level and singing and dancing performances with strong Chinese characteristics won the acclaim of the guests present. The embassy, the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Namibia China Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association, the Namibia Chinese Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, the Medical Team, the Confucius Institute’s self-directed and self-performed programs aroused applause from the audience from time to time. The show was full of praise. The whole party lasted for 4 and a half hours, and it was always filled with a joyful and festive atmosphere. It was an unforgettable night for the overseas Chinese in the country.
